Knott's Berry Farm is a theme park in Buena Park, California that opened on September 29, 1980. It was founded by Walter Knott and his wife Cordelia. The park covers 160 acres and includes a variety of family-oriented attractions, such as amusement rides, live shows, and a waterpark.


In the late 1920s, Walter Knott had opened up an old roadside berry stand in Buena Park, California with his wife Cordelia. They would sell berries to passersby who would stop at the stand for refreshments. In 1934 Walter Knott built a small house called "Cordelia's Cottage" on the property which he used as a tearoom to serve freshly baked pies to visitors who came to pick berries from the farm. Over time they began adding attractions to the stand, including a small carousel, a merry-go-round, and a few rides. In 1966 the Knott's bought an old roadside stand that was owned by Sheridan Amusements in Santa Cruz. They completely renovated and rebranded the theme park as Knott's Berry Farm with their signature blue and white retro signage which they designed themselves.
